Gas works on Sea Lane, starting between 28 September and 12 October

SGN, the gas network company, will shortly be replacing the old metal gas mains under Sea Lane with new plastic pipes. Sea Lane is the way in and out for most of us, so this affects the whole estate, not only those who live on the lane.

The work will start at some point between 28 September and 12 October. SGN expects it to take around four weeks. Their contractor is I&G Contractors Ltd.

SGN does not expect to interrupt anyone’s gas supply, and their engineers will not need to come into your home. You will see teams digging in the road and footpaths, and there may be a site compound nearby.

We have asked SGN how traffic on Sea Lane will be managed, and we will let you know as soon as we hear.

Please allow a little extra time for journeys, and let visitors, carers and delivery drivers know.
